The restaurant operating system

Every chair filled.
Every shift easier.

Reservations, host stand, ordering, kitchen, inventory and the books — one app that becomes whatever role you're working tonight, with an AI that quietly does the parts nobody wants to.

Built inside a working restaurant. No hardware to buy. No markup on payments.

One app, every role

Open it as a host. Open it as a cook. It knows.

OpenChairs is a single app your whole team installs once. Sign in, and it morphs into the screen for your role — host stand, server pad, kitchen display, manager's desk, owner's books. Same data, same second, no syncing.

why was thursday slow?

Rain from 4 pm, and the Sea Dogs were home. Walk-ins were down 40%; reservations held. Consider a rainy-day happy hour push to your 1,900 guest list — I drafted one.

Front door to back office

One system, so nothing gets typed twice.

A reservation becomes a table, a table becomes an order, an order becomes a ticket, a ticket depletes inventory, and every dollar lands in the books. Automatically, because it's all one thing.

  1. 01

    Reservations

Guests book on your site, on Google, or by asking the AI on the phone. Confirmations and reminders go out on their own. No-shows drop.

  2. 02

    Host stand

A live floor map, an honest waitlist, and turn-time estimates that get smarter every night. Text the table when it's ready.

  3. 03

    Ordering

Servers order at the table; guests can scan a QR to order and pay. Online pickup and delivery from the same menu, with no third-party cut.

  4. 04

    Kitchen

Tickets arrive in cook order with allergies flagged and timers per dish. Course firing keeps the pass calm.

  5. 05

    Inventory

Every sale depletes stock. Par levels, counts, and purchase orders in a tap. AI forecasts what Saturday needs before you ask.

  6. 06

    Accounting

Sales, tips, labour, COGS and tax roll into books that close themselves nightly. Your accountant gets a clean export.

AI on every shift

A manager who never sleeps, never sighs, and costs less than a case of wine.

The goal is simple: the least amount of work for the most amount of profit. Anywhere a person is doing something a model could do better at 3 am, we hand it over. You stay in charge; you just stop doing paperwork.

Answers the phone

A concierge that knows your menu, hours and tonight's availability picks up, chats, and books — on the phone, the site, and by text.

Forecasts the week

Covers by hour, prep quantities, staffing — from your own history plus weather, events, and holidays.

Writes the boring words

Specials, social posts, review replies, job listings, 86'd item notices. In your voice, ready in seconds.

Watches the numbers

Food cost creeping, a server's comps, a supplier's price bump — you hear about it the night it happens, not at month end.

Runs the nightly close

Reconciles sales, tips and cash; books the entries; writes the manager's brief for the morning.

Engineers the menu

Which dishes make money, which just make work, and what to charge. Suggestions, never surprises — you approve.

Questions

The ones we get at the pass.

Do I need new hardware?

No. OpenChairs runs in the browser on whatever you already own — phones, tablets, an old laptop at the host stand. For kitchen displays we recommend any cheap tablet. Card readers are Stripe's, which we ship to you.

What does it cost to take payments?

Stripe's standard rate. We add nothing on top, on any plan.

Can I bring my own domain?

Yes, on Table and up. Point it at us and we handle the certificate, redirects, and SEO. Your free openchairs.app address keeps working.

What if I already use OpenTable / Toast / Square?

Start with the free website and reservations alongside what you have. When you're ready, we import your guests, menu, and history and you switch one shift at a time.

Is the AI making decisions for me?

It makes recommendations and drafts; you approve. The exceptions are things you explicitly turn on — like letting it take reservations by phone.

Who built this?

Flamesoft, with a working restaurant as the lab. Everything ships because a real service needed it.
